Identifying the components, manufacturing techniques and assembly practises that are utilised by the brand. Ensuring that your product fits the brand values you will be asked to take inspiration from past.
and present Ikea products and synthesise your analysis into the next generation of Ikea products.
REVISED BRIEF:
This project proposes a foldable, flat-pack desk designed for modern homes where space and budget are limited. Inspired by IKEA’s values of functionality, affordability, and clean Scandinavian aesthetics, the desk expands to provide a practical work-from-home setup and folds away to free up space when not in use. It follows IKEA’s flat-pack and self-assembly principles, using cost-effective, sustainable materials to offer a compact, user-friendly solution for flexible living.
